THE PIONeer CLUb is a YOUTH CLUB, SKatepark, and MUSIC Venue IN ST ALBANS
Now in its eightieth year, the Charity was originally founded by evacuee’s that were relocated from London to St Albans in WWII and has since evolved to become a multi faceted centre that extends far beyond it humble origins as a simple youth club.
The Iconic Music Venue
Motorhead were regular visitors. The Zombies were formed here. Enter Shikari grew up here and still contribute to the Pioneer Community. And today? Expect to see ground- breaking local bands mixing with the big names. A place where Rudimental can hang out with our house DJ's, and the home of legendary club nights like Common People.

THE UK's OLDEST SKATEPARK
Pioneer became home to the oldest indoor skate park in the UK, this being converted from an old warehouse in 1991, added to which was an outdoor skate area some two years later. The skate park is known worldwide and often attracts visitors from overseas to its regular skate jams.
Outstanding Performing Arts
SASA is our Performing Arts School in residence. Street dance, contemporary dance, acting, musical theatre, singing, performances and a whole lot of fun for young people aged 4 - 21. SASA offer much more than your average stage or acting school. SASA has a strong social purpose; to create transformational experiences and opportunities through inclusive performance and creativity; for individuals, families and communities. We're very proud that they call The Pioneer home.
